The best time to soil sample is after harvest before manure is applied.  You get a better sample, and it is easier on equipment and operators to sample unplowed ground.  There should be no more than 25 acres per sample.  Soil tests tell you what nutrients are in your soil so you can better account for them in next year's fertility program. Our soil samplers will be busy, so order your sampling now.
